About the Role

CIBC is seeking an Associate, Global Markets, to analyze commodities market risk and optimize risk-adjusted revenue. This role involves communicating trade ideas and hedging solutions to the sales desk to support the client franchise and providing timely, accurate pricing to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze commodities market risk and optimize risk-adjusted revenue.
  • Communicate trade ideas and hedging solutions to the sales desk to support the client franchise.
  • Provide timely and accurate pricing to clients to meet market goals.
  • Utilize programming languages, such as Python and VBA, to develop trading strategies, automate processes, and perform market analysis.
  • Conduct fundamental analysis and regression modeling to build forecasting models.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3 years of experience with preparing quantitative analyses of market risks using Excel and VBA.
  • 3 years of experience using Python to create trading strategies, automate processes, and perform market analysis.
  • 3 years of experience preparing daily management updates and performance reports for commodities financial markets.
  • 3 years of experience using automated systems to support finance teams’ operational needs.
  • 3 years of experience reviewing SQL queries to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Must be legally eligible to work at the specified location.
  • May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills tests.
