About the Role

Freedom Power is seeking a Solar Installer to install 1kW–30kW solar systems on residential homes. This role involves racking, installing DC and AC equipment, commissioning, and testing PV systems, contributing to homeowners' energy control and future.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily safety meetings.
• Install racking systems per manufacturer specifications on various residential roof types.
• Install DC and AC equipment according to plans and local codes.
• Safely commission and test PV systems, including voltage testing.
• Make necessary field changes and communicate with the Project Manager.
• Operate company trucks and trailers safely to and from job sites.
• Assist crew lead and Regional Operations Manager with assigned duties.

Requirements

• Residential solar installation experience required.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Apprentice Electrical License preferred.
• Electrical experience strongly recommended.
• Knowledge of local electrical codes and residential PV design and components.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions.
• Background in construction trades (roofing, carpentry, or metal framing) is a plus.
• Comfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and at heights.
• Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs routinely.
• Ability to perform bending, stretching, squatting, and sustained physical effort.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including Texas heat.
