About the Role
Responsible for managing the Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) non-academic compensation program and directing the Compensation team. Recommends and implements new compensation programs to support the Medical College's initiatives and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Directs annual employee merit increase program, advising management on guidelines and policies, and reviewing increases for compliance.
- Directs annual review of salary structure to ensure competitiveness with local market rates.
- Partners with departments to align organization structure with business needs.
- Directs the non-academic job evaluation program, evaluating and approving salaries for exempt and non-exempt positions, and ensuring compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Directs the review and approval of salary increases and collaborates with HR staff on compensation issues.
- Ensures market competitiveness of non-academic salaries by identifying and analyzing market salary surveys.
- Prepares overall market pricing reports as needed.
- Manages the Compensation team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and problem-solving.
- Recommends and implements new compensation programs, including incentive programs, to attract, retain, and motivate staff.
- Responds to faculty, administration, and staff questions regarding job evaluation.
- Utilizes expertise on Success Factors Performance, Goals, and Compensation modules to implement technological solutions and automate processes.
Requirements
- Approximately 8+ years of experience in compensation management.
- Experience in job evaluation, compensation theory and practice, techniques of market pricing and salary administration.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations impacting compensation, including the Fair Labor Standard Act.
Skills
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
- Expertise on Success Factors Performance, Goals and Compensation modules.
