About the Role
The Center for Disability Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist with services and repairs in various areas including preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and snow removal. This role requires knowledge of common practices within a specific field and allows for some creativity under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Performs major maintenance projects, service and repairs in the areas of preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, minor HVAC problems, electrical, grounds, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, furniture moving and other duties as assigned.
- Provide labor, skills and expertise, with a primary focus on quality workmanship, the safety, functionality and comfort of residents, participants, staff and visitors.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- NYS Drivers license in good standing.
- At least 1 year of job related experience, specifically in preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and/or snow removal.
- In lieu of 1 year of experience, successful completion of a building related trade and/or technical program will be accepted.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
