About the Role
The Smile Lodge Pediatric Dentistry is seeking reliable, hard-working, and motivated individuals to join their Dental Assisting team. On-the-job training is provided for those without prior dental experience.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve patients and responsible parties from the waiting room and escort them to the clinical area.
- Escort patients and responsible parties to check out upon completion of their appointment.
- Identify and communicate patient concerns to the dentist or hygienist.
- Obtain and document consent for treatments such as fluoride, radiographs, and sedation.
- Take and document diagnostic radiographs as identified by a licensed professional.
- Deliver benefit statements and use patient handouts for guardian education.
- Accurately document all findings and treatments performed during appointments.
- Clearly explain proposed treatment plans to legal guardians.
- Indicate the next required appointment using appropriate descriptions.
- Engage patients during downtimes to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
- Anticipate the needs of the hygienist or doctor during appointments for a seamless visit.
- Adhere to OSHA standards by consistently wearing appropriate PPE.
- Efficiently break down, clean, and set up workstations and rooms between appointments according to OSHA standards.
- Maintain up-to-date CPR/BLS certification.
- Keep workstations clean and stocked.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable, professional, and eager to learn.
- Comfort working with children.
- Must be available for a full-time, four-day work week.
