About the Role
As a representative for our company, you will serve as a host/hostess to customers, acting as the frontline for customer service. You will support kitchen staff by accommodating any special needs of guests. Your role involves inspecting dining room serving stations and tables for cleanliness and neatness, restocking supplies, setting tables, bussing tables, taking orders, preparing beverages, and expediting orders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign activities of dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous service.
- Accommodate special needs of guests.
- Inspect dining room service stations for neatness and cleanliness.
- Restock food and condiment stations while avoiding contamination.
- Prepare beverages and expedite food orders.
- Monitor the number of guests entering and exiting the café.
- Stock and re-stock utensils, plates, and glasses in the service area.
- Use carts to transport utensils, glassware, plates, and food.
- Act as a host/hostess for guests, take orders, and set/re-set tables with place settings.
- Coordinate and direct daily tasks to ensure quality of production and maintain positive workflow.
- Train employees/interns.
- Provide Management with consistent communication on operational tasks and team effectiveness.
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have and maintain an active Handlers’ Card (ServSafe) and adhere to local food handler requirements.
- Maintain an exceptional personal record of punctuality and attendance.
- Consistently perform all duties in a responsible and efficient manner.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
