About the Role

The Quadrangle Club, the faculty and social club of the University of Chicago, seeks an associate to create a welcoming experience for guests by assisting with luggage and setting up event spaces. This role is crucial for maintaining the club's historic facility and ensuring exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with luggage upon arrival and departure.
• Set up and break down event rooms, dining rooms, lounge, and pre-function spaces according to event orders.
• Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility and grounds.
• Carry guests’ luggage to/from the guests’ rooms.
• Handle guest room deliveries.
• Load and unload guests’ luggage into various vehicles.
• Assemble and arrange event equipment in event rooms per event order.
• Maintain tennis courts by rolling, sweeping, and brushing lines.
• Clean and maintain building grounds, sidewalks, lawn areas, and steps.
• Shovel snow for patron egress.
• Assist event clients with carrying equipment.
• Listen and respond to guests’ inquiries with a positive, clear speaking voice.
• Answer questions and provide accurate information pertaining to food and beverage hours.
• Perform daily cleaning of event rooms, common areas, offices, and restrooms.
• Ensure storage areas are clean and well organized.
• Utilize appropriate hardware and software for daily duties.
• Assist the leadership team with inventory of equipment and banquet goods.
• Assist guestroom attendants with appropriate duties.
• Stock guestroom attendants closet with linens and amenities.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull 70+ pounds.
• Must be able to walk for long periods of time, resulting in an average of 17,000 to 25,000 steps per shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift a variety of tables and other equipment weighing 5-150 pounds.
