About the Role

The Technologist Assistant will provide support to Technologists, ensuring an on-time schedule and orderly operation of the diagnostic imaging scanning area.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate company values in daily activities.
  • Greet and escort patients to the changing room, explaining the procedure.
  • Provide pre-exam screening and instructions.
  • Assist patients on and off the table as requested by the technologist.
  • Support technologists during scans and contrast administration.
  • Manage post-scan patient hand-off.
  • Ensure an efficient, friendly, and smooth patient experience.
  • Ensure smooth patient throughput across all modalities.
  • Monitor center modality schedules.
  • Adjust patient schedules as necessary and inform technologists of changes.
  • Prepare room setup between patients, including coil management and sheet changes.
  • Assist technologists in staying on schedule by preparing the next patient.
  • Provide front-end coverage as needed.
  • Attend trainings to stay updated on best practices and certifications.
  • Complete other assigned tasks and projects.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to ALARA principles.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to constant change.

  • Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions.
  • Requires computer-related activities for extended periods.
  • Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write, and key.

  • Previous patient care/medical care role preferred

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Radiology Technology student preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
