About the Role
The AI Product's Data Science organization is central to developing next-generation products at Figma, including Make, Figma Agent, and Design Systems. This team is crucial for setting strategy, measurement, and driving product innovation through data-driven insights and AI advancements. The Director will lead a team of data scientists and managers, defining the vision for how data influences strategy across Figma's AI products and embedding data-driven thinking and modern AI product measurement into the development process.
Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and grow a team of data scientists and data science managers focused on product strategy, internal tooling, and impact measurement.
- Champion data quality, accessibility, and the democratization of data across the company.
- Establish trust within and across teams by creating accountability and a positive work environment.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Sales, Marketing, or Finance to drive impact.
- Shape how AI products are measured, including evals, quality, and experimentation for LLM-powered assistants and agents in partnership with AI Research.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience managing and leading high output Data Science teams, with at least 2 years managing other managers.
- 7+ years of experience working in AI, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience building or measuring AI products, ideally LLM-powered assistants, agents, chatbots, or copilots.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical methods, experimentation, and/or forecasting.
- Ability to scale teams in high-growth environments, with a desire to build an inclusive and diverse culture.
- Experience owning 0 to 1 product areas (added plus).
- Candidates must keep their cameras on during video interviews.
- Hired individuals will be required to attend in-person onboarding.
