About the Role

To effectively deploy and manage operations resources, drive oversight, ensure compliance with regulatory services, and oversee operational performance to achieve organizational mission and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations processes including blood donor screening, collections, clinical services, components preparation, donor testing, reference laboratory, inventory management, distribution, and supply chain.
  • Participate in developing and implementing the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Provide leadership in establishing and accomplishing operational goals and objectives.
  • Develop business plans and monitor execution in conjunction with Executives and VPs.
  • Oversee operational planning, budgeting, and compliance for meeting budgets, goals, and objectives.
  • Prepare and present operational reports and metrics as directed by the CEO.
  • Provide leadership and direction for reporting staff in evaluating, coaching, and counseling employees.
  • Ensure timely and effective training, feedback, and constructive guidance to improve employee job performance.
  • Ensure the highest levels of service and professionalism are exhibited throughout the organization.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided both internally and externally.
  • Maintain operational compliance with applicable industry standards, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Function as a subject matter expert in matters relating to the FDA, AABB, FACT, and other applicable regulatory authorities.
  • Promote compliance with all operational and corporate policies and procedures through leadership and example.
  • Represent the company and actively participate in the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), America’s Blood Center (ABC), and other relevant professional organizations or groups.
  • Meet and exceed expectations of the AMO CommYOUnity! employee program standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership management and/or supervisory experience in a blood center required.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written as well as presentation skills.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to lead by example.
  • Must have the ability to handle difficult situations and deal with sensitive and highly confidential information.
  • Must have strong computer skills and knowledge.
  • Must exhibit professional conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Requires strong interpersonal, organizational experience, and demonstrated success in project and time management.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Able to meet assigned timeline tasks as required.
  • Ability to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to draw reasonable conclusions.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and prioritize effectively.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with bio-hazardous material.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able and willing to halt production as determined by MD, CEO, and CQO if necessary.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must possess proof of insurance.
  • Must possess an acceptable driving record.
  • Background and drug screen required.
