About the Role
The Resources & Reference Librarian is responsible for the overall management of electronic resources across multiple offices and providing legal and business reference services.
Responsibilities
- Manage national and office-specific electronic resources.
- Evaluate potential electronic resources, liaise with vendors, coordinate demos and trials, and solicit feedback.
- Review existing resources based on functionality, relevance, usage, ROI, and user recommendations.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders on renewal negotiations and new subscriptions.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and licensing conditions.
- Work closely with vendors on renewals, training, platform changes, and resource testing.
- Oversee library contracts to streamline renewals and maintain accurate records.
- Provide high-quality, timely, and complex legal and business research services.
- Create and manage customized current awareness alerts.
- Monitor technology changes, including generative AI in research platforms, and collaborate on implementation.
- Leverage AI technology in daily work processes.
- Coordinate and execute in-depth research projects.
- Deliver tailored research skills and library resources training.
- Promote Library resources and services through communication and outreach.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of law firm experience.
- Expertise using key legal and business resources, including Lexis+, Westlaw Advantage, Practical Law, Avantis, and Capital IQ.
- Deep knowledge of the legislative process and extensive experience conducting legislative research.
Skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Keen interest in emerging technologies, including AI-enabled legal and business research tools.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and produce high-volume work in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and expertise in synthesizing complex information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to providing professional, responsive, and high-quality client service.
