About the Role
The YMCA of Broome County seeks a dedicated Resident Support Officer to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of residents in a clean, sober, and respectful community environment. This role offers training and certification opportunities in security, crisis prevention, and Narcan administration.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of residents, visitors, YMCA personnel, the building, and premises.
- Conduct regular patrols and respond to incidents.
- Maintain a visible presence to ensure adherence to YMCA rules and building standards.
- Write detailed incident reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for daily program operations.
- Handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Foster an environment that supports clean and sober living.
- Mediate conflicts between residents using de-escalation techniques.
Requirements
- Dedication to helping others.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent communication skills.
- General knowledge in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with individuals with mental and physical health diagnoses or substance abuse preferred.
