About the Role

This position engages in the daily conduct and continuous improvement of auditing activities within the Maintenance Quality Assurance Program (MQAP) and supports Porter Airlines’ safety culture by participating in core functions related to the internal Safety Management System (SMS).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct internal audits to confirm compliance with regulations and approved manuals.
  • Plan and conduct external audits of contracted organizations, including maintenance arrangements, manufacturers, suppliers, and overhaul/repair facilities.
  • Design and develop detailed audit checklists based on Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Porter Airlines’ approved company manuals.
  • Ensure checklists conform to IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs).
  • Review and recommend corrective action plans (CAPs) and ensure timely audit closure.
  • Adhere to processes and procedures in Porter’s Corporate Operations Manual, MPM, MCM, SMS Manual, and Audit Manual.
  • Participate in MQA team meetings, MQAP Workshop meetings, and Quarterly “All Teams” meetings.
  • Engage in inter-departmental team meetings as required.
  • Conduct SMS investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action plan development (after training).
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), reporting hazards and incidents.
  • Understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Perform occasional assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of aviation and QA experience.
  • Applicable training certification/s.
  • Experience working within an AMO, AOC, or MRO environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary airport security clearance.
  • Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Knowledge of TCCA’s Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).
  • Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy, and self-reliance are key attributes.

  • Familiarity with various Technical Data sources (AMM, AIPC, CMM, MTCM) is a key asset.
