About the Role
The ECE Workforce Development & Success Coordinator (WDSC) plays a crucial role in supporting the professional growth and success of apprentices within the Early Care and Education (ECE) sector. This role involves providing academic support, coordinating work-based learning, and managing program logistics for both new and incumbent ECE workforce members. The WDSC collaborates with educational institutions and community partners to ensure apprentices receive the necessary training and resources to excel in their careers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IHE and community-based organizations to build strong partnerships and access additional resources.
- Coordinate logistics, outreach, and promotion of informational sessions and workshops.
- Lead outreach and recruitment efforts for ECE REACH apprenticeship programs.
- Connect students with available resources within Felton, the community, and partner institutions.
- Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, venue selection, and participant registration.
- Establish relationships with training providers, consultants, and experts.
- Seek funding opportunities and grants to support workforce development initiatives.
- Manage student recruitment and enrollment, ensuring thorough understanding and promotion of program eligibility.
- Support and actively participate in outreach events to increase enrollment rates.
- Collaborate with the IHE to facilitate seamless student enrollment, registration, and orientation processes.
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and research to assess the needs and challenges of apprentices.
- Complete an Individualized Development Plan (IDP) for each participant.
- Deliver training programs, coordinate mentee/mentor assignments, and oversee participant progress.
- Identify skill gaps and areas for professional growth and development.
- Evaluate student requirements, including equipment, books, and connectivity.
- Assess and address training needs and challenges faced by apprentices.
- Coordinate academic support sessions, including on-site tutoring.
- Coordinate self-centered/small group instruction sessions to enhance basic skills.
- Coordinate the matching and onboarding of apprentices with experienced Mentor Teachers.
- Track mentorship pairings and retention data, flagging at-risk relationships.
- Build positive rapport with apprentices and maintain strong communication channels.
- Gather feedback from apprentices on their mentorship experience.
- Serve as the first point of contact for apprentice concerns, referring needs to appropriate coaches.
- Coordinate logistics for drop-in sessions and workshops on career planning and postsecondary advisement.
- Provide individualized barrier mediation to ensure success.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for career readiness and financial literacy activities.
- Track apprentices’ progress on career action plans, flagging stalled or at-risk apprentices.
- Support outreach and enrollment for financial literacy workshops and career readiness sessions.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and enrollment for training sessions, workshops, and webinars.
- Track apprentice attendance and completion of mandatory trainings.
- Serve as the first point of contact for apprentices with training-related questions.
- Coordinate logistics for one-time workshops on career topics and postsecondary resources.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely participant records.
- Collect, verify, and maintain participant and program data for funding sources.
- Ensure data is entered accurately into designated databases and tracking systems.
- Support the preparation of reports, performance metrics, and documentation for grant reporting.
- Ensure participant files and program documentation comply with policies and regulations.
- Coordinate the tracking, completion, and renewal of participant professional requirements.
- Conduct routine reviews of participant files, databases, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal departments, educational institutions, and external agencies to obtain and verify documentation.
- Monitor participant attendance, academic progress, and tutoring participation.
- Identify barriers to participant success and coordinate interventions and support services.
- Track, verify, and document the completion of required On-the-Job Training (OJT) days for Tier 1 participants.
- Maintain regular communication with participants and employer partners regarding employment status and apprenticeship participation.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of participant data into the CIRCE database.
- Monitor participant progress toward educational, employment, and program milestones.
- Identify participants at risk of falling behind or withdrawing and develop retention strategies.
- Coordinate with educational institutions, employer partners, and internal staff to provide support.
- Organize recognition events celebrating certificate/degree attainment.
- Support data collection, monitoring, and evaluation of workforce development programs.
- Collect and analyze data on participant satisfaction, learning outcomes, and program impact.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze workforce data and trends.
- Work in partnership with program supervisors and directors to align with organizational values and goals.
- Manage professional development activities for ECE staff and lead training initiatives.
- Utilize a collaborative, strengths-based, and supportive approach when working with diverse staff.
- Attend meetings and other opportunities to promote positive communication.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements

- Experience working with youth 16-24.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in workforce development, apprenticeship programs, or adult education settings.
- Bilingual required (English/Spanish).
- Must pass a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and a Child Abuse Index, Health Screening, and TB Test.
