About the Role

The TH Radiation Therapist II is responsible for administering daily treatments on Varian accelerators, simulating and scheduling patients, and providing superior patient care. This role is a valuable member of the radiation oncology clinical team, reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Radiation Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily treatment on Varian accelerators using various treatment techniques.
• Simulate and schedule patients for treatments.
• Deliver prescribed therapeutic doses of radiation in accordance with physician orders.
• Prepare, operate, and monitor radiotherapy equipment and accessories.
• Interpret portal vision films and on board imaging.
• Prepare immobilization devices and bolus material.
• Assist in clinical instruction of students.
• Perform daily review of all new patient and cone down data in the record and verify system.
• Arrange daily appointments for treatments and simulations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy.
• NYS license or Temp license in radiation therapy.
• Member of ASRT and ARRT.
• Experience with Varian Accelerators, CT simulations and ARIA record and verify system.
• Experience performing various treatments to include SBRT, IMRT, HDR and SRS.
• Minimum 2 year experience.
• Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance.
• Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
• Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
• Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
