About the Role
The Team Leader position involves the clinical supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff, direct service provision in a behavioral healthcare setting, and the development, implementation, and coordination of therapeutic services. This role supervises and provides multi-disciplinary clinical and case management services with a focus on engaging consumers with serious mental illness and substance use, ensuring consumer needs, program goals, and contract objectives are met. The role includes direct care services such as client assessment, individual and group counseling, and applying therapeutic interventions, requiring considerable professional initiative and judgment.
Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates consumer admission, treatment, rehabilitation, support, and discharge processes.
- Implements and coordinates clinical services, monitoring for professional standards and compliance.
- Leads team organizational and service planning meetings.
- Ensures program emphasizes goal-driven case management, symptom management, family interventions, and service facilitation.
- Supervises program staff through direct observation in office and community settings.
- Reviews records, establishes work schedules, sets performance standards, evaluates performance, handles grievances, and conducts staff training.
- Responds promptly and respectfully to consumer needs, modeling appropriate behavior and representing the organization positively.
- Develops, conducts, and monitors treatment interventions, providing support for staff and clients in crisis.
- Performs comprehensive assessments and develops treatment plans, assigning staff and participating in plan revisions.
- Reviews and manages program notes, assessments, reports, risk management, and incidents.
- Maintains systems to monitor work, establish continuity, and ensure accountability.
- Ensures systems are in place to address emerging issues and prevent future instances.
- Ensures program operates in accordance with contractual requirements and regulations.
- Stays current on new regulations, policies, and best practices, training staff accordingly.
- Participates in quality improvement processes, administrative meetings, team meetings, trainings, and case reviews.
- Supports and supervises program staff to build a strong team.
- Performs on-call duties for crisis intervention and supervision.
- Maintains relationships with agency support departments to strengthen program operations.
- Develops tracking and organizational systems to manage program operations.
- Interprets relevant information to resolve problems and makes sound decisions.
- Handles unexpected situations effectively, coping with stress and deadlines.
- Applies time management skills to work effectively within deadlines, organizing time and prioritizing workload.
- Maintains relationships with outpatient programs, housing programs, and other service organizations.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field.
- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- At least two years of supervisory/management experience in human services.
- Clinical experience in crisis assessment and treatment.
Skills
- Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
- Bilingual in any language a plus.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards.
- Strong organizational skills and timely follow-up to manage complex tasks.
