About the Role

The Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law and the Department of Philosophy invite applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Law and Philosophy. This joint appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue innovative and independent research.
  • Establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
  • Be assigned a teaching and service load.

Requirements

  • Hold a JD or equivalent degree.
  • Hold a doctoral degree, earned by the time of the appointment or shortly thereafter (preferred).
  • Demonstrate a record of excellence in research and teaching.
  • Possess research and teaching expertise in both Law and Philosophy.
  • Provide evidence of research excellence, including publications in top-ranked journals, research statement, conference presentations, awards, and strong endorsements.
  • Provide evidence of teaching excellence, including teaching accomplishments, teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference.
  • Submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, research statement, two writing samples, teaching dossier, copies of all law and graduate transcripts, and the name and contact information of three references.
