About the Role
The Revenue & Yield Management teams develop and guide the revenue strategy for multiple brands across the Disney Portfolio. The linear pricing team focuses on collaboration with Sales, primarily with a focus on driving business, agency, or category strategy and overall stewardship, while in tandem ensuring our bottom line as a company is protected. The Manager, Linear Pricing & Planning will directly manage Sales Planners and their deliverables, providing guidance on pricing and mix needs, supporting sales strategy, and educating sales teams on business needs and the marketplace. This role will also work closely with Sports and Entertainment Brand Solutions to guide on valuation and sponsorship assessment.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, onboard, manage, and train a team of Sales Planners, including ongoing training and development crucial to the evolving sports landscape.
- Manage Planner assignments to ensure specific agencies or sales teams are properly supported based on business needs.
- Deploy strategy and tactics to Sales Planners, including pricing strategy, ADU strategy, offers and approvals, proposal revisions, cross-network write-down implementation, and UF operations.
- Utilize system reporting to provide regular updates to sales and Sales Planners to impact yield.
- Collaborate with sales on business needs, including sponsorship valuations, added value, and reviewing or approving basic terms.
- Contribute and partner with technology on system enhancements and/or updates, advocating for business unit needs.
- Partner closely with Management in Inventory & Analytics, Scheduling, and Ad Operations to ensure accuracy across teams regarding execution and deal stewardship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of business experience with a focus on Pricing & Planning in a national sales organization.
- Experience directly managing or mentoring a team of individual contributors in a national Sales organization strongly preferred.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Expert in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel).
- Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and team player.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing work environment.
