About the Role
The Talent Planning Manager establishes a strong, measurable talent planning infrastructure, leading succession planning, leadership development pathways, and internal mobility insights to build organizational capability. This role partners with People & Culture teams to foster Associate motivation, growth, development, and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of succession and talent development strategies.
- Create and maintain succession and development planning templates and processes.
- Design and deliver succession and development planning training for Managers.
- Identify top talent for Senior Leadership opportunities in partnership with the Executive Team.
- Develop talent pipelines for high-performing Associates.
- Develop a succession planning program aligned with business strategy.
- Manage risk mitigation efforts for leadership transitions.
- Design and enable career pathway frameworks.
- Provide tools and resources for Managers to conduct Associate connection expectations.
- Manage and update Goal Setting, Development Plan, and Connection Meeting templates.
- Provide training for Managers on career path and internal mobility conversations.
- Facilitate a process for Managers to assign stretch assignments.
- Spearhead the creation and management of Leadership Development Programming.
- Research best practices and emerging trends in Leadership Development.
- Build relationships with Talent Planning and Development peers at external organizations.
- Conduct annual gap analysis meetings and workshops.
- Advise the Learning & Development team on program additions, edits, updates, and enhancements.
- Track program completion and measure success against key business metrics.
- Assess talent planning effectiveness and support data-informed decisions using workforce metrics.
- Incorporate insights from performance, recruitment, and retention to inform talent planning priorities.
- Facilitate the delivery of Learning & Development content.
- Provide one-on-one Emotional Intelligence coaching to Leaders internally, upon request.
Requirements
- College/University degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience in talent planning, succession, or leadership development.
- Superior communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Action-oriented and solutions-focused.
- Able to navigate change thoughtfully, influencing stakeholders, and adapting approaches.
- Skilled presenter and facilitator.
