About the Role
The Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients on animal care, including medication dosage, home care, vaccinations, and preventative healthcare. They will also explain laboratory procedures and testing, and ensure animals feel safe and secure.
Responsibilities
- Counsel and educate clients on animal care under the direction of a Veterinarian or RVT.
- Explain medication dosage and purpose.
- Advise on home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare.
- Suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing in collaboration with the team.
- Greet, handle, and treat animals in a manner that ensures their safety and security.
Requirements
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
