About the Role
Responsible for executing ingredient strategic sourcing initiatives, including innovation, business continuity plans, and ensuring procurement compliance for secondary ingredient categories.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the execution of the company’s long-term plan within the Procurement department.
- Provides critical Subject Matter Expertise (SME).
- Reduces costs of purchased goods and services without jeopardizing quality or business continuity.
- Develops and implements terms & conditions, RFQ, RFP, online bidding, and other programs and processes to ensure best value and cost.
- Resolves day-to-day issues, escalating chronic or severe issues to the Sourcing department.
- Ensures business alignment with the Sourcing department.
- Develops and manages best-in-class procurement policies, processes, systems, tools, training, and auditing.
- Provides support to other department functions regarding their inventory and procurement requirements.
- Works with Marketing on project launches, discontinuations, and product changes.
- Supports Supply Chain on material planning, inventories, and resolves any supply issues.
- Partners with and provides procurement leadership and insight to the Operations, Finance, Quality, and R&D groups as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP or similar business systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and equipment for food processing and high-speed packaging, as well as Bakery Manufacturing including ingredients.
- Must possess the financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve operational effectiveness and profitability.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).
- Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.
- Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognition.
- Strong computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems).
- Working Knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement experience is an asset.
