About the Role

This is a plant leadership role responsible for supervising and training Project Engineers, Co-ops, and hourly staff. The role involves providing engineering support to all plant departments, incorporating safety into all activities, and managing the identification, development, budgeting, and execution of plant projects. It also includes participating in daily process activities, recommending improvements for efficiency, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting with the plant’s Reliability Predictive Maintenance system.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Project Engineers, Co-ops, and hourly staff.
  • Provide engineering support to all plant departments.
  • Incorporate safety into all activities and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Manage the identification, development, budgeting, and execution of plant Capital, Non-Capital, Infrastructure, and Non-Routine projects.
  • Participate in day-to-day process activities and recommend improvements to reduce variation and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate and build relationships throughout the organization to successfully complete projects.
  • Demonstrate initiative to self-seek opportunities and solutions for plant operational needs with limited direction.
  • Assist with leading continuous improvement initiatives, such as LSS/LEAN.
  • Assist with the plant’s Reliability Predictive Maintenance (work order) system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with prior experience as a Project Engineer.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of data collection, and statistics.
  • Ability to recognize the relationship between various process functions.
  • Proficiency in advanced problem-solving techniques such as SPC, control charts, Pareto charts, process cycle time, fishbone diagrams, flowcharting, and process balancing.
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented to maintain data integrity.
