About the Role
The Videographer will bring the MG Motor UK brand to life through engaging, high-quality video content for digital and social channels. Taking ownership of the full production process, from initial concept and storyboarding through to filming and final edit, the role will create both long and short-form content that engages audiences ranging from automotive enthusiasts to prospective buyers. Working closely with the creative and social media teams, the Videographer will apply strong visual storytelling and technical expertise to deliver content that supports the client’s objectives, reflects the MG Motor UK brand and is optimised for the relevant platform and audience.
Responsibilities
- Plan, storyboard and deliver high-quality video shoots in the studio and on location, showcasing vehicle features, design and driving experiences.
- Take ownership of video projects from initial brief and concept development through to filming, post-production and final delivery.
- Operate camera, lighting and audio equipment safely and effectively to achieve consistently high production standards.
- Edit raw footage into polished and engaging long and short-form video content for digital and social channels.
- Apply appropriate colour grading, sound design, music and motion graphics to support the creative concept and brand style.
- Ensure final video assets meet the required technical specifications, quality standards and delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with creative, production and social media colleagues to develop original video concepts aligned with client objectives and audience interests.
- Adapt video formats, aspect ratios, pacing and creative treatments for different platforms, including social-first and vertical video.
- Use audience insight and content performance information to inform creative decisions and improve future video content.
- Coordinate effectively with studio crew, lighting technicians, on-screen talent, influencers, models and other production partners.
- Provide clear direction and communication during shoots to support safe, efficient and effective production.
- Manage multiple production priorities and respond appropriately to changing requirements or challenges during filming and post-production.
- Maintain, prepare and troubleshoot camera, lighting, audio and grip equipment.
- Ensure equipment is safely rigged, operated, stored and maintained in line with relevant health and safety requirements.
- Manage, organise and archive digital video assets so that content can be accessed and reused effectively.
Requirements
- Knowledge of digital video production and delivery, including camera systems, lighting, audio and social media video formats.
- Understanding of visual storytelling and how video content can be used to engage different digital and social audiences.
- Understanding of automotive visual aesthetics, including studio lighting and dynamic on-location filming.
- Knowledge of post-production workflows, including video editing, colour grading, audio mixing and motion graphics.
- Awareness of relevant health and safety requirements for studio and on-location video production, including equipment and vehicle rigging.
- Strong creative and visual storytelling skills, with an excellent eye for composition, detail and audience engagement.
- Excellent camera operation, lighting and audio recording skills.
- Proficiency in professional video editing, colour grading and motion graphics software.
- Ability to rig, operate and troubleshoot camera, lighting, audio and grip equipment safely.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to collaborate with clients, colleagues, production partners and on-screen talent.
- Ability to respond calmly and find practical solutions in fast-paced or high-pressure production environments.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling video content.
- Proven experience working as a professional videographer and editor, supported by a strong portfolio of engaging digital or social video content.
- Experience delivering video projects from initial concept and storyboarding through to filming, editing and final delivery.
- Experience coordinating multiple production priorities and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced creative environment.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional creative, production or social media teams.
- Experience directing or coordinating studio crew, production partners or on-screen talent.
- Experience of professional vehicle camera rigging or automotive videography would be advantageous.
- A full clean driving licence valid in the UK is required due to the on-location and automotive nature of the role.
