About the Role
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for effective account technician management and providing operational leadership to the portfolio, driving team engagement, collaborating on process development, achieving service level agreements, and maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manages a team of Technicians for the assigned regions.
- Responsible for employee engagement, development, performance management, hiring, retention, uniforms, certifications, training, and compensation recommendations.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety standards through toolbox talks, safety training, providing protective equipment, and incident review.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with all internal and external requirements.
- Maintains awareness of all applicable regulations and requirements.
- Provides technical support, coaching, and mentorship to Technicians.
- Manages work orders focusing on cost control and weekly expenditures.
- Manages Technician time and expenses.
- Collaborates on the review, development, refinement, and implementation of processes and standard operating procedures.
- Recommends and implements technologies for greater efficiencies and productivity.
- Maintains awareness and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements.
- Deploys Technicians to projects and work orders, ensuring on-time completion and requirement fulfillment.
- Monitors and drives team performance to achieve service level agreements and performance metrics.
- Achieves greater efficiencies through resource utilization, labor loading, work order review, and developing corrective solutions.
- Collaborates with Dispatch and CMMS teams for effective service delivery.
- Investigates and resolves operational issues with a high degree of urgency.
- Provides support with operational tools/programs such as GeoTab, Lone Worker, PMR, and ODP.
- Works within union environments, including understanding of Collective Agreement.
- Provides support in the absence of the Regional Director.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of trades operations work experience.
- At least 5 years of supervisory or management level experience.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and maintains current awareness.
- Ability to lead and engage a team of skilled trades employees and drive performance.
- Skilled at managing a skilled trades operation and employees.
- Ability to develop and implement processes and standard operating procedures.
- Skilled at influencing, persuading, and negotiating.
- Computer proficiency.
- Able to work within union environments, including understanding of Collective Agreement.
