About the Role
The Palletizer works under limited supervision in the packing plant/cooler, stacking filled egg cases onto pallets. This role is crucial for maintaining the food safety and quality of all eggs produced and sold.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the middle person on correct orders and quantities.
- Verify cases are correctly stamped, dated, and closed before palletizing.
- Ensure cases are stacked correctly on pallets with stamps and stickers facing outward.
- Move and label full pallets to their proper locations.
- Apply correct dates and codes to cases.
- Ensure all daters and stickers are accurate.
- Know the correct cooler placement for products.
- Track production counts and number pallets consecutively, marking run numbers on cases.
- Use only unbroken pallets.
- Ensure orders are accurately counted and signify completion by taping off cases.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Frequently check tape level and taper operation.
- Place cardboard on the bottom of every pallet, and between specific rows of half cases and EB's.
- Stack all cases straight and square.
Requirements
- Must be able to use a pallet jack.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly for long periods.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to work in an environment kept at 40-45 degrees.
