About the Role
Pencer House is seeking to fill the position of Consultant Dietician under the supervision of the Project Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate monthly wellness programs, including nutrition education workshops, to promote healthy lifestyles, food safety, chronic disease prevention, and nutrition for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
- Provide individual nutrition education and counseling to residents on healthy eating, symptom management, and chronic disease nutrition.
- Review and create nutritious, culturally appropriate, and budget-conscious menus, ensuring compliance with applicable nutritional guidelines and food safety standards.
- Connect residents to food assistance and community nutrition resources.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident health goals.
- Complete annual client satisfaction surveys.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nutrition services, resident interactions, assessments and reports with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Masters in Nutrition and/or Dietetics or a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics with 3 years related work experience.
- Applicant should have an interest in food, knowledge about food systems, and a desire to increase food awareness and healthy living choices.
- Experience, confidence and comfort level in conducting adult, nutrition education sessions.
- Familiarity and/or experience teaching relevant curriculum and facilitating workshops.
- Commitment to the organization and participants as demonstrated by reliability, enthusiasm, preparedness, and positive attitude about the program and nutrition.
