About the Role
This role oversees the entire lifecycle of a subcontract, from sourcing and strategy development through negotiation, award, management, and closeout. Subcontracts at L3Harris support diverse customer segments and leverage various subcontract types to manage risk effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall life-cycle of a subcontract, from initial sourcing and acquisition strategy development through solicitation, negotiation, award, cost and schedule management, subcontractor execution, and closeout.
- Collaborate on acquisition strategy and sourcing.
- Develop subcontract requirements.
- Generate solicitations/requests for proposals.
- Perform source selection.
- Negotiate price, schedule, technical aspects, and terms & conditions.
- Establish official subcontract files and required documentation.
- Manage cost, schedule, and quality of subcontracts.
- Prepare PO/Subcontracts compliant packages and administer ongoing/awarded subcontracts.
- Navigate routine tasks with assistance.
- Assist in locating information in systems by running reports or navigating through software programs.
- Develop an understanding of Subcontracts' relationship with other functions such as Contracts, Program Management, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Business Development and others.
- Develop an understanding of procurement systems and tools such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Control, Cognos, Quality, Excel, Peoplesoft Financials, Expo, PDM and others.
- Participate in proposal activities by completing assigned actions or leading proposal efforts.
- Assist with the timely administration of subcontracts, purchase orders, contract modifications, requests for proposals, negotiations, and processing of legal documents.
- Develop an understanding of forecasting and the Supply Chain's influence on the annual operating plan to include orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
- Assist in managing subcontractor performance, including scorecards, terms and conditions, and active communication.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have completed their Masters degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.
