About the Role
The Manager, Sales Training & Culture plays a critical role in shaping the capability, engagement, and performance of Scotiabank’s indirect mortgage channel. This role leads the design and execution of learning and engagement strategies that enable business growth, strengthen employee experience, and drive sales excellence nationally while ensuring compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Designs and maintains a training curriculum for the Home Financing Solutions sales team, Scotia Mortgage Authority Broker Relationship Managers, and broader Real Estate Secured Lending team.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive sales learning strategy aligned to business objectives, growth targets, and sales priorities.
- Creates blended learning solutions including instructor-led training, virtual learning, coaching resources, microlearning, and self-directed content.
- Leads the facilitation and delivery of high-impact training programs that build sales capability, reinforce desired behaviours, and support business performance objectives.
- Builds strong partnerships with internal/external partners, learning organizations, vendors, and subject matter experts to bring leading practices and emerging trends into the channel.
- Continuously enhances curriculum to reflect changing market conditions, competitive trends, client expectations, and business priorities.
- Leads change management initiatives supporting new products, processes, policies, and business transformations.
- Supports the sales force in planning opportunities for conferences, employee recognition events, client events, and training sessions.
- Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Supports 500+ mortgage sales professionals nationally.
- Designs and maintains national training, onboarding, and compliance curriculum.
- Creates learning solutions through instructor-led, virtual, and self-directed formats.
- Leads learning strategies supporting product launches, policy changes, transformations.
- Builds internal/external partnerships to develop strategic learning solutions.
- Measures program effectiveness through sales performance, engagement, and learning outcomes.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and Scotiabank’s real estate secured lending strategy.

Experience Level
- 5+ years' experience in sales training, learning, or performance enablement.
Education Level
- University degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline.
