About the Role
The Academic Success Coach plays an integral role in the support and success of students in an accelerated nursing program. This role involves registration, academic advising/success coaching, and ensuring the retention and persistence of enrolled nursing students. The Success Coach will interact with students, university faculty, advising teams, and other program personnel to enhance student progression and graduation.
Responsibilities
- Facilitation and support of student progression
- Provide on-site success coaching and coordination of appropriate student services
- Manage student registration process for each semester (3 per year)
- Provides proactive and developmental coaching/advising for all active students
- Actively initiates and continues ongoing guidance to students whose grades, attendance, and/or personal barriers put them academically at risk
- Communicates concerns about student progress to the student, faculty members, and administration in conjunction with coaching efforts and strategy
- Consistently stays engaged with students to promote success using one on one meetings, phone calls, face-to-face video chat, and success seminars
- Ensures timely coordination of registration of selected courses
- Acts as a liaison for student(s) in matters related to academic appeals, readmission requests, grievances, etc. affecting a student’s progress through the program
- Appropriately documents communication with students and maintains all required student population reports
