About the Role

Lead our Azure cloud-adoption strategy and manage a team of Senior Cloud Engineers responsible for building secure, scalable, automated, and reliable cloud services. This role will partner with application teams, architecture, cybersecurity, finance, risk, and infrastructure leaders to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will establish cloud standards, remove adoption barriers, improve delivery processes, and ensure Azure services are governed, cost-effective, resilient, and aligned with business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise Microsoft Azure strategy, roadmap, and cloud-adoption program.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Senior Cloud Engineers.
  • Partner with application and business teams to assess workloads and create cloud migration and modernization plans.
  • Establish Azure landing zones, subscriptions, management groups, policies, access controls, tagging, and governance standards.
  • Drive an automation-first approach using infrastructure as code, reusable deployment patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Lead the development of self-service cloud capabilities that allow teams to deploy approved Azure services efficiently.
  • Oversee Azure compute, storage, networking, containers, platform services, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Promote cloud-native architectures, managed services, containers, serverless technologies, and modern application patterns.
  • Lead the adoption of Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, AIOps, and intelligent automation to improve engineering productivity and operational support.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity and Risk teams to ensure Azure solutions meet security, regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements.
  • Establish FinOps practices for cloud forecasting, cost allocation, consumption reporting, rightsizing, and optimization.
  • Use Jira to manage engineering backlogs, roadmaps, epics, priorities, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Use ServiceNow to support cloud requests, incidents, problems, changes, configuration management, and service delivery workflows.
  • Define and report cloud-adoption metrics, delivery progress, platform health, cost trends, risks, and business outcomes.
  • Evaluate new Azure services and technology products that improve cloud adoption, reliability, automation, and client experience.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for Azure platform, cloud engineering, and adoption-related issues.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with Microsoft and other cloud technology partners.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading enterprise Azure, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or cloud-adoption programs.
  • 5+ years of Azure architecture across compute, storage, networking, containers, platform services, monitoring, and resiliency.
  • 5+ years experience designing Azure landing zones and implementing cloud governance using Azure Policy, management groups, role-based access control, tagging, and cost-management controls.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and automation using technologies such as Terraform, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, or GitHub.
  • Experience leading cloud migrations, application modernization, and workload-placement decisions.
  • Experience with Azure security, cloud risk management, regulatory controls, and audit requirements.
  • Strong understanding of cloud financial management, forecasting, licensing, and cost optimization.
  • Experience using Jira to manage technical delivery and ServiceNow to support enterprise service-management processes.
  • Strong executive communication, leadership, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Arc, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience building internal cloud platforms, service catalogs, or self-service deployment capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, product management, and FinOps practices.
  • Microsoft Azure architecture, security, DevOps, or AI certifications.
  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization that does not require employer sponsorship.
