About the Role

The Research Chapter brings together experts who help shape better client and employee experiences across CIBC through insight-driven decisions. As a Senior User Experience Researcher, you'll lead and execute generative and evaluative research that helps teams better understand user needs, validate ideas, and improve digital experiences across web, mobile, and desktop platforms. You'll partner closely with Designers, Product Owners, Strategists, and other stakeholders to build research roadmaps, recommend the right methodologies, and deliver meaningful insights that influence product, experience, and business decisions. Using strong analytical thinking and storytelling skills, you'll transform complex findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable recommendations. You'll also contribute to the growth of our research practice by advancing methods, supporting research operations, sharing expertise, and mentoring less experienced researchers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product, design, and cross-functional teams to understand research objectives, define priorities, and build research roadmaps that support strategic decision-making.
  • Recommend and apply the most effective qualitative and quantitative research methods to answer key questions, and develop research plans, discussion guides, screeners, surveys, and other study materials.
  • Plan and conduct a range of generative and evaluative research activities, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, concept testing, and A/B testing.
  • Lead recruitment activities by defining target audiences, developing screening criteria, and coordinating scheduling logistics to support smooth study execution.
  • Analyze and synthesize findings from multiple data sources, identify meaningful insights and opportunities, and translate research into clear deliverables, presentations, and narratives tailored to different audiences.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the research practice by embracing innovative technologies and artificial intelligence-powered solutions, sharing expertise, and mentoring less experienced researchers.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of dedicated user experience research experience with a strong focus on digital products and experiences across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, participant recruitment, usability testing, survey design, and research platforms such as Maze, UserTesting, Qualtrics, or similar tools.
  • Experience using AI-enabled research tools and emerging technologies to improve research efficiency and impact is an asset.
  • Degree/diploma in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science, Information Studies, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified.
  • May be asked to complete an attribute-based assessment and other skills test (such as simulation, coding, French proficiency).
