About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials. We offer reliable schedules, regular home time, and late-model trucks equipped with the latest safety features.

Responsibilities

• Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
• Transport HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials, both liquid and dry.
• Perform bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials, including loading and unloading using pumps, air, etc.
• Manage the entire process of transport, transfer, delivery, securement, and paperwork for bulk materials.
• Perform packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers, including palletized and supersack materials.
• Manage the entire process of transport, transfer, delivery, securement, and paperwork for packaged materials.
• Operate a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and site-specific rules and regulations.
• Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while on customer/vendor sites.
• Operate pallet jacks (electric or manual).
• Operate forklifts and applicable accessories if required by location.
• Operate dock locks, dock levelers, and other applicable equipment for delivery/pickup.
• Properly care for all assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units.
• Maintain good housekeeping on equipment and ensure it is in good working order prior to use.
• Remain in communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher for delivery instructions.
• Complete all training as required.
• Observe, follow, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
• Represent the company in a professional manner.
• Operate power units that utilize advanced camera and safety systems (e.g., Samsara) for compliance purposes.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.
• Candidates with prior experience in chemical delivery may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
• Must meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
• Possess a Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat Endorsement (as required for role).
• Possess a current DOT medical card.
• If required to wear a respirator, cannot have any facial hair that may interfere with a respirator.
• Possess a current TWIC card or show proof of application in process (if location requires).
• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Comfortable with general warehouse duties and the use of applicable equipment.
• Detail and customer oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend and conduct detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara).
• Must reside local to area (within sixty miles).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must pass E-verify check.
• Must pass a pre-employment DOT fit-for-duty exam.
• Must be able to sit and drive for long hours.
• Must be able to step into and out of equipment safely.
• Must be able to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while performing loading/delivery tasks.
• Lifting ability up to 75 pounds.
• Frequently pushes, pulls, or moves up to 150 pounds.
• Must be able to wear a respirator (if required for role) and all other personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to load and unload hazardous material.
• Must be able to climb ladder.
