About the Role

Perform a variety of custodial duties in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures for C&W Services, working under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
• Spot clean and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, interior glass doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior.
• Wash and spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
• Must be able to take direction.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable vacuum cleaner (back pack style).
• Requires attention to detail.
• Requires a pride in delivering excellent service.
• Requires organization.
• Requires high levels of energy and endurance.
