About the Role

State Street Custody Digital & Fund Services is seeking a candidate to lead product development and drive the strategic direction of digital cash and digital services. This role is critical for enabling cash and settlement functions as digital asset and platform use cases move toward production, ensuring seamless integration with global payment rails and banking platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product development and delivery for digital cash and settlement capabilities.
  • Define how cash supports delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement, subscriptions and redemptions, and asset lifecycle and post-trade cash flows.
  • Own the product design for cash orchestration across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Partner closely with custody, asset servicing, and digital platform teams to ensure cash solutions support evolving product models.
  • Work with payments, core banking, and liquidity teams to align digital cash products with account structures, payment processing platforms, and intraday and end-of-day settlement models.
  • Translate payment, liquidity, and settlement constraints into clear product requirements and roadmaps.
  • Develop business cases and prioritisation frameworks for digital cash initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, and compliance to ensure products meet control, resiliency, and regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services with strong exposure to cash, payments, or custody.
  • Deep understanding of institutional cash movement and payment infrastructures.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and continuous learning in the digital asset space.
  • Strong stakeholder management across product, technology, operations, and control functions.
  • Analytical, innovative, and results-driven, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex settlement concepts.
  • Designing or delivering cash and settlement solutions within custody or asset servicing environments.
  • Bridging digital platforms or tokenised products with traditional banking and payment infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing or operating cash and payments platforms, such as: Temenos Transact, ACI Worldwide MTS / RTPS, Dragonfly Technologies Universal Online Banker.
  • Technical familiarity with global payment networks and messaging standards, including: ISO 20022 (pacs, camt), Fedwire, CHIPS, ACH, TARGET2 and SEPA.
  • Orchestration of settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling across complex operating models.
  • Integration of cash, custody, and third‑party platforms via secure APIs.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise banking and financial market infrastructures.
  • Experience delivering products in regulated, control‑heavy environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile product delivery and structured requirements management.
  • Consulting or large‑scale transformation experience is a plus.
