About the Role
Lactalis USA is hiring a Production Mechanic in Buffalo, New York. This is a training/apprentice level role responsible for learning and performing tasks on production equipment and utility systems, working closely with a Class 3 Mechanic or mentor. Ability to progress and a desire to learn are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily preventative maintenance (PMs).
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
- Maintain machines, including bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
- Complete bench work using common hand tools.
- Learn to perform rudimentary pipefitting for water, steam, and air lines using various pipe materials.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
- Assist upper-class mechanics on major overhauls.
- Identify potential issues and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Utilize clear written and verbal communication abilities.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
