About the Role

Lactalis USA is hiring a Production Mechanic in Buffalo, New York. This is a training/apprentice level role responsible for learning and performing tasks on production equipment and utility systems, working closely with a Class 3 Mechanic or mentor. Ability to progress and a desire to learn are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance (PMs).
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Maintain machines, including bearings, assembly, disassembly, power transmission, rigging, and lubrication.
  • Complete bench work using common hand tools.
  • Learn to perform rudimentary pipefitting for water, steam, and air lines using various pipe materials.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
  • Assist upper-class mechanics on major overhauls.
  • Identify potential issues and report them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Utilize clear written and verbal communication abilities.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages).
