About the Role
St. Ann’s Community is seeking a full-time Therapy Assistant to assist Physical Therapists in providing Physical Therapy services, ensuring the highest quality of care for residents and patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment services for Patients, Residents, Participants and Outpatients as ordered by qualified medical practitioners and directed by a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Assist Physical Therapists with developing treatment plans, selecting activities and exercises based on resident/patient needs.
- Implement the Physical Therapy treatment plan under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Deliver high-quality service, responding to customer needs within the scope of practice defined by New York State.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with primary therapists.
- Update primary therapists on changes in patient/resident abilities, reevaluation needs, and treatment goal updates.
- Complete required documentation on time, ensuring notes are informative and descriptive.
- Seek renewal of orders as required, complete care cards and care plans, and accurately complete billing daily.
- Protect the confidentiality of patient information.
- Maintain equipment in good working order and report problems to a Therapy Manager.
- Support and uphold Physical Therapy standards.
- Participate in meetings and committees as requested.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Provide in-service training for staff as needed.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Model positive, proactive, and team-oriented behavior.
- Communicate actual and potential problems to Manager in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Completion of a two-year college degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant desired.
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations preferred.
