About the Role

PRG seeks an ambitious, motivated individual to join our team as a Construction Coordinator. This position covers NYC capital construction projects close to electric and gas utilities in the local market.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre and active construction site walk-throughs with crew foreman/supervisors.
  • Provide measurements, photos, and documentation, producing hand or digital sketches.
  • Monitor construction sites daily and provide reports.
  • Confirm construction schedules.
  • Track crew locations.
  • Identify water, sewer, electric, gas, and other utility infrastructure.
  • Conduct and/or attend field meetings.
  • Interact with construction contractors, other utility inspectors, and NYC project personnel.
  • Monitor construction crews to ensure proper excavation, equipment, tools, PPE, and methods are used, and all safety protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • Possess 4+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of NYC 811 and local 753 dig codes.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements, produce detailed sketches, photos, and written documentation.
  • Prior experience as an excavation laborer, construction laborer, laborer foreman, or machine operator.
  • Ability to work with contractors, other utility inspectors, and NYC personnel on construction projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude.
  • Must be well-organized, proactive, resourceful, flexible, able to communicate with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and perform professionally.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office programs.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance are required.
  • Ability to drive to sites throughout New York City and surrounding areas.
