About the Role
Transitional Services for New York, Inc. (TSINY) is seeking an Assistant Program Director of Facilities Operations to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. This role supports the achievement of site business goals by ensuring facility equipment and systems are operational.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment.
- Delegate work orders to maintenance personnel.
- Order supplies as necessary and obtain supervisor approval.
- Supervise and assist with tasks at various work sites.
- Distribute supplies for weekend operations.
- Prepare order forms for cleaning materials.
- Perform floor stripping and waxing.
- Clean and maintain agency vehicles.
- Conduct staff meetings.
- Meet with Director, Facilities Management to present completed work orders and review outstanding issues.
- Complete bi-weekly time sheets and pick up payroll.
- Prepare employee evaluations.
- Take vehicles in for repairs.
- Drive residents/staff to various appointments.
- Check and conduct minor repairs for boilers, plumbing, and heating systems.
- Prepare rooms for new residents.
- Repair minor electrical problems.
- Conduct repairs on windows, doors, sinks, etc., not requiring independent contractors.
- Perform snow shoveling as needed.
- Mow lawn, maintain garden, and trim bushes as needed.
- Perform plastering and painting.
- Conduct general renovation of dining areas, staff offices, and client recreation areas.
- Prompt staff to keep current with personnel policies.
- Interview candidates for maintenance positions.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and repair of other building systems.
- Current valid New York State Driver's License and a safe driving history.
- Ability to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
