About the Role
St. John's is seeking a Protective Services Officer to provide safety and protection to residents, visitors, and employees. This role involves responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, conducting facility and grounds checks, and maintaining logs and reports.
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties of a Protective Services Officer.
- Performs Patrols of Campus.
- Answer Calls for Service.
- Investigates complaints.
- Respond to medical and fire alarms.
- Prepare Logs and Reports.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field plus a minimum of 1-year relevant experience; or 2 years of directly applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education.
- Emergency Medical First Responder or E.M.T. / CPR-AED Certification preferred.
- NYS Security Guard Card certification and experience required.
- Valid NYS driver’s license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- At least 1 year of security or public safety work preferred.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
