About the Role

Bauer’s IT is seeking an experienced B-Tech Diesel Fleet Mechanic for their San Francisco location.

Responsibilities

• Use gauges, specialized electronic equipment, and maintenance/repair manuals to diagnose mechanical failures.
• Communicate with manufacturer representatives regarding repairs, parts, and diagnostic equipment.
• Serve as a team lead when assigned.
• Perform tasks including crawling under buses, stretching, and lifting heavy objects.
• Disassemble and perform partial or complete overhauls of Diesel, CNG, and Gasoline combustion engines.

Requirements

• Complete working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differentials, and other assemblies.
• Complete knowledge of hydraulic and air braking systems on various vehicles.
• Complete working knowledge of HVAC systems (certification required).
• Complete working knowledge of suspension, electronics, and air systems.
• Full working knowledge of ADA vehicle operations.
• Possess a B license or be committed to obtaining one within an agreed timeframe.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field.
• Completion of advanced classes on all major vehicle models in the fleet.
• Must complete 40 hours of online classes annually as directed.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
