About the Role
Join Pliant as a Senior Product Designer, Design Systems, to help build the world's best corporate credit card experience. This role involves hands-on product design and deep design-system ownership, focusing on shipping product features and evolving our design system, including for AI-assisted workflows. You will bring structure and craft to our user experience across web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency as we scale. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape the roadmap and raise quality and consistency through a world-class design system. Pliant values design, with the design team reporting directly to a founder. Responsibilities
- Own the design system domain, ensuring consistency and high quality.
- Design end-to-end features across web platform, mobile app, internal tools, and dashboards.
- Integrate AI into the design system for AI agent utilization and one-to-one mapping between design and code.
- Partner with engineering to keep the design system and codebase synchronized.
- Define and champion design standards and review component usage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders from discovery through delivery.
- Step up to support different design needs in a lean team environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or digital design (agency or in-house).
- At least 1 year in a senior or lead role.
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in building, scaling, and governing a design system.
- Strong command of component architecture, design tokens, theming/modes, and documentation.
- Systematic approach to naming and structure.
- Advanced Figma skills (variables, modes, component properties, auto-layout).
- Solid understanding of how design systems map to front-end code.
- Comfort collaborating closely with engineers to keep design and code 1:1.
- Curiosity about evolving AI/agent-assisted design workflows is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to design end-to-end product experiences across web, mobile apps, internal tools, and dashboards.
- Excellent craft in interaction and visual design.
- Proactive, highly organized way of working.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting work and rationale.
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
- Experience in fintech or B2B SaaS is nice-to-have.
