About the Role
Students are introduced to the etiologies and characteristics of speech and language disorders in children, associated with autism, intellectual disabilities, and specific language impairment. Theoretical underpinnings of the major intervention approaches for children with speech and language disorders are discussed.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of course content
- Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams
- Calculation and submission of grades
- Holding regular office hours
- Supervision of TAs or Graders as required
Requirements
- Solid background in speech-language pathology
- Mastery of the course material, including ongoing research related to the course material and clinical experience in SLP
- Previous experience as an instructor in JLS courses
- Instructor is expected to be fully available for the duration of the employment period
- Instructor is expected to be in geographical proximity to the University
Skills
- Previous experience working with Teaching Assistants/Graders is desirable
- Excellent teaching evaluations as a Course Instructor in a JLS course is an asset
