Responsibilities
- Develop and design mechanical systems/mechanisms considering cost, functionality, manufacturability, and availability.
- Design parts and systems reflecting forming and fabrication processes and manufacturing/assembly tooling capabilities.
- Create 2D drawings with sufficient data for manufacturing, quoting, or gauging.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to components and systems.
- Prepare and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Source off-the-shelf parts including actuators, bearings, fasteners, and standard steel sections.
Requirements
- Experience in 3D modeling CAD tools such as Solidworks or Inventor.
- Experience in creation of 2D drawings for parts and assemblies.
- Experience in 3D modeling.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T and its application.
- Knowledge of assembly and part tolerance stack-ups.
- Ability to build 3D models for quick and easy future modifications.
