About the Role
The Strategy & Insights team within HSBC Innovation Banking UK aims to drive smart revenue growth by integrating business intelligence with market insights. This role will leverage expertise in sales growth strategy to design and deliver high-impact revenue initiatives, tackle complex challenges, drive innovation, and optimize the operating model. The position involves identifying new revenue opportunities, closing performance gaps, and partnering with executive stakeholders for successful implementation, ultimately delivering growth strategies aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Leverage business and market intelligence to foster strategic communication with C-suite and senior leadership, shaping strategies to maintain competitive edge and optimise growth strategy and operating model.
- Recommend and influence decisions on key sales performance indicators and tracking sales performance to understand strategy success.
- Recognise new strategic opportunities to expand revenue and develop roadmaps to achieve them.
- Bring consistency to end-to-end Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy by defining best practices and driving behavioural change through a comprehensive sales enablement programme.
- Lead critical strategic growth initiatives and translate GTM strategy into action plans that drive execution and increase revenues.
- Break down informational silos to ensure business decisions are based on the entire story and empower data-driven decision making to raise returns.
- Increase efficiency through technology, automation and optimising cross department processes, allowing sales teams to spend more time in the market and grow sales.
- Build competitive advantage through thought leadership and position HSBC Innovation Banking (HINV) as the leader of innovative content.
- Guide sales resource allocation & FTE planning to maximise returns.
- Effectively manage priorities and multiple C-suite and senior leadership stakeholders to ensure delivery on key objectives.
- Proactively shape strategy on enhancing the Strategy & Insights proposition, including operating model, offshore strategy and strategic sales technology.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience coaching and mentoring associates, helping them build capability and improve performance.
- Team player with solid experience working cross-functionally across departments and managing numerous projects with attention to detail and C-suite stakeholder management.
- Strong experience building rapport with C-suite and senior leadership, with the ability to challenge conventional thinking with resilience and resourcefulness.
- Proven high achiever with an entrepreneurial, can-do attitude, exceptional drive, proactiveness, and self-motivation.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to demonstrate efforts taken for personal development.
- Effective problem solver with a track record of increasing sales productivity through technology, automation, and optimizing cross-department processes.
- Proven ability to craft and deliver strategic narratives that drive alignment, influence executive stakeholders, and support high-impact business decisions, including creation of high-quality pitch decks.
- Track record of successfully identifying, driving, and delivering opportunities that increased revenues.
- Robust business judgment and acumen, with proven experience developing business strategy (strategy consulting, in-house strategy, or M&A experience desired).
- Strong understanding of technology, life sciences, start-up, venture capital, and corporate finance ecosystems.
- Understanding of commercial banking structure, products, and business model.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Highly advanced (power user) of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to translate data and insights into strategic recommendations.
- Familiarity with sales tools such as CRM Dynamics, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach, Qlik, PitchBook, Beauhurst, CapIQ desired.
