About the Role
Safely operates all equipment at the location used to load and unload rail cars, boats and/or trucks, ensuring order accuracy and expeditious processing of requests.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Practices and promotes safety, including assessing risks, performing authorized activities, and utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Exercises and encourages core values, including developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment.
- Maintains grounds, offices, warehouse, and yard.
- Carries out tasks related to loading/unloading material (bulk and bagged) for rail, waterway, and road transportation.
- Understands and operates truck loading equipment.
- Operates and conducts general maintenance on mobile equipment and assists with general mechanical maintenance.
- Samples product from trucks and barges following company policies.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records on all terminal equipment.
- Performs clerical functions for recording receipts, shipments, and inventory records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with Terminal Managers, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms, and suppliers.
- Possesses a valid driver's license.
- Experience with customer service.
- Experience with equipment operation and maintenance.
