About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Purchasing supports end-to-end supply chain operations through strategic sourcing, procurement, inventory management, demand planning coordination, vendor relationship management, and continuous process improvement. This role partners closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, mitigate supply chain risks, and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Manage strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply planning for finished goods, raw materials, packaging components, and related materials.
Support strategic sourcing and procurement by identifying, evaluating, qualifying, and onboarding suppliers.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, leading negotiations on pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, safety stock programs, inventory commitments, and risk-sharing arrangements.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance through regular business reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate demand planning and inventory management to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure product availability.
Partner with Sales, Product Management, Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and suppliers to align supply plans with business requirements.
Support new product development (NPD) and product launch initiatives by coordinating supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, material readiness, lead time management, and production planning.
Monitor market trends, raw material costs, supplier capacity, and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
Analyze procurement, inventory, and supply chain data to track KPIs, support decision-making, and identify cost savings opportunities.
Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, regulatory requirements, and supply chain best practices.
Support cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives related to supply chain optimization, inventory management, sourcing strategy, cost reduction, and business growth.

Requirements

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) required.
2 - 4 years of relevant experience or industry exposure in a related field.
