About the Role
The Senior Cook prepares meals and snacks in accordance with menus planned by the Director and Assistant Director of Food Services and Consulting Dietitian. This role works collaboratively with Program Directors and staff to ensure children receive necessary nutrients, maintains sanitary kitchen conditions, and supervises/teaches youth.
Responsibilities
- Assists children who work in the kitchen, who participate in the youth work program.
- Coordinate with Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director, and other cooks to assist in maintaining excellent sanitary conditions in the kitchen.
- Coordinate with the Food Service Director and Assistant Director to assure that all food and other supplies are ordered with weekly menus.
- Assist in filling food and supply orders.
- Attend and help serve food and beverages at events on campus or at satellite locations.
Requirements
- Two years' experience in food service in a residential or institutional capacity required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required
