About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring quality standards. This role involves developing and implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and collaborating across teams to drive efficient, high-quality production operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Support the introduction of new products by developing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment setups, and workflow designs that meet quality and efficiency standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, establish root causes, and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Design, evaluate, and improve production line layouts and workflows to maximize throughput and operational efficiency.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet regulatory and quality requirements by developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and conducting regular process audits.
- Collect and analyze data related to process performance, downtime, and production quality.
- Utilize findings to make informed process improvements.
Requirements
- 4-6 years in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a focus on process improvement, equipment troubleshooting, or production optimization (Preferred)
Skills
- Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving tools like 5-Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
- Skilled in process design and layout planning to improve production line efficiency.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Analytical skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards applicable to manufacturing environments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with quality control techniques, including Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and production simulation tools.
