About the Role
Join our client-facing solution delivery team as a Scientific Software Developer. Working agent-first, you will combine deep scientific expertise with AI coding tools to build data-driven models, AI-based decision-support tools, and analysis pipelines for leading R&D organizations. This role serves Japan's leading enterprises, requiring native-level Japanese fluency.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end scientific solutions, applying knowledge of statistics, optimization, and machine learning to translate client R&D problems into architectures.
- Utilize AI coding assistants and autonomous coding agents for data exploration, model prototyping, software development, testing, and documentation.
- Direct AI agents by decomposing problems, providing domain context and scientific constraints, and iterating towards accurate results.
- Solve complex research and product-development problems in collaboration with client researchers and business leaders.
- Build data-driven models, AI-based decision-support tools, and automated analysis pipelines, assembling them into web-based solutions.
- Design AI-enabled and agentic capabilities into client solutions where they add value.
- Apply judgment regarding the appropriate use of AI and generative approaches, balancing speed with reliability.
- Participate in collaborative development practices, including code and architecture reviews, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups.
- Interface directly with clients to define, demonstrate, and refine solutions.
- Handle client data and intellectual property responsibly, using AI tools only in approved, secure configurations.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in Japanese and English.
