About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tech Pack Designer Assistant to join our dynamic Childrenswear Apparel team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive tech packs that serve as essential communication tools between our design, production, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed tech packs for each style, including technical sketches, specifications, materials, colors, trims, and construction details
- Collaborate with designers to translate creative concepts into actionable tech packs that align with brand standards and product requirements
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in all tech packs, reviewing them for completeness and compliance with manufacturing guidelines
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to clarify technical specifications, address inquiries, and resolve issues related to production
- Revise tech packs based on feedback from production and quality assurance teams, ensuring they reflect the latest design changes
- Research and suggest appropriate materials and trims that meet quality and cost standards
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in tech pack development
Requirements
- Please submit your technical black and white sketches via the documents tab when applying
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in sketching, creating tech packs in the apparel industry
- Experience with fitting sessions and garment sampling processes
- Knowledge of sustainability practices in apparel production
Skills
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, PLM, Photoshop, CAD)
- Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, and fabrics
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- An eye for print, scale and color
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
